Real Risk is an Irish running brand built around one simple idea — runners shouldn't have to compromise on comfort, quality or price.
Why we exist
Most running gear is either too expensive, too bulky, or both.
We started Real Risk because we couldn't find a running vest that ticked every box — comfortable enough to forget you're wearing it, practical enough to carry everything you need, and priced so that any runner could justify it. After two years of testing, prototyping and getting feedback from runners across Ireland, we built the UltraX. It's the vest we always wanted.

It started with a frustration, not a business plan.
We're two brothers from Dublin who love running. Not elite athletes, not ultra-marathoners. Just runners who go out because it clears the head and keeps us honest. For years the thing that frustrated us most wasn't the training. It was carrying stuff. A phone, keys, a gel or two, some water. Simple things — until you're 8km in and your handheld bottle is killing your grip.

We looked everywhere. The right vest didn't exist.
At run clubs around Dublin we saw two types of runner — those with expensive, clunky vests, and those who didn't know vests were even an option. We tried everything we could find and kept coming back to the same conclusion: comfortable, good-looking and affordable didn't exist in the same vest. So we decided to make it.

Two years of testing. One vest that finally got it right.
We talked to club runners, casual runners, people doing their first 5K, people grinding through marathon training. We prototyped. We tested. We got feedback. And eventually, after two years, we built the UltraX — designed from the ground up for everyday Irish runners who take their running seriously, even if they're not racing for a living.

I bought the UltraX running vest about two months ago. As a female runner I was worried it might feel bulky across the chest but it actually fits really nicely. Lightweight, easy to adjust and doesn’t move around while running.
